Semyon Chuikov took lessons in painting from a prominent local artist and teacher N.G.Hludova (1918-1920). He studied at Tashkent Art School in 1920-1921, then - in Moscow Higher Art Technical Studios (Vkhutemas), converted in the future in Higher Art and Technical Institute at (Vhuteine) in 1921-1929 from R.R.Falka. Taught in Vhuteine, Leningrad Institute of Proletarian Arts (1929-1932), Moscow State Art Institute. Surikov (1947-1948). People's Artist of USSR (1963). Full member of the Arts of the USSR (1958). Drawing on the traditions of Russian realistic art, Chuikov developed the theme of Kyrgyzstan in the genre and landscape painting, depicting the lives of people and the nature of the edge, and in 1950-1960's, after traveling to India, Italy, created the beautiful images of these countries, rare in color landscapes .
